Mary Kathy Hicks

I am a Christ follower who is still in progress. As such, every part of my journey academically, professionally, and personally is infused with this process. I have been privileged to teach a variety of ages in Bible studies.

I am a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. I am blessed to have three children, eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. This number will certainly increase. I will update as it does.

I have been involved in education for over fifty years. I have served as a classroom teacher, district administrator, university faculty, researcher, and educational workshop speaker. I have had the opportunity to travel extensively in connection with my work, even throughout Europe. I have worked not only primarily in public but also in the private sector.

I am a life-longer learner who enjoys new thoughts, new languages, new books, and new skills. I enjoy clothes designing, painting, and writing. I have recently had more time to paint and to write. I have found that reflection and questioning expand thought, enhancing learning and enriching life.

I am beginning this site to share what I have learned, what I am considering, what I have as reflections, what I have written, and some of what I have painted or drawn.

I hope some others will take advantage of this site to share in a similar way. I hope that we can engage in discussions that will provide a springboard for all of us to expand, enhance, and enrich our lives.

I do intend to see that all sharing is respectful and tasteful. Because some may differ in what they consider respectful and tasteful, I will monitor and regulate according to my perspective. Realize my perspective is a composite of a time before phones, television, and modern technology up until today and from one who enjoys science fiction.
